29-6-2021: How might a truly unbiased, independent investigation occur if the investigator enjoys a financial relationship with the powerful entity that is under investigation? This is the case with Marion Koopmans, a professor of public health virology at ErasmusMC and a scientific advisory group member for the World Health Organization (WHO).

29-6-2021: The original gain-of-function research goes back ten years, with a Netherlands study that involved ferrets. The researchers wanted to see if coronaviruses could be genetically manipulated so they could be transferred through the air. After demonstrating airborne transmission with ferrets, the researchers wanted to replicate contagion in humans. This opened up an entirely new, controversial science that involved manipulation in the genetic code of viruses.

In a recently uncovered February 2020 TV interview with World Health Organization (WHO) investigator Marion Koopmans, Koopmans states labs in China were manipulating coronaviruses before the pandemic started. Koopmans, along with others on the WHO team who investigated the origins of COVID-19 in January and February, now denies the coronavirus pandemic was caused by a lab leak.
